When should you update a corporate film?

There is no universal expiry date for a company video. If the core facts, material permissions and intended uses remain current, a complete remake may be unnecessary.

Identify what has changed

Review the company name, services, products, locations, contact details and statements in the film. Check whether permissions or usage conditions still cover the planned channels.

Separate factual changes from a preference for a newer visual style. Some updates can be handled with revised captions or a small amount of additional footage; others affect the whole story.

Plan the smallest coherent update

Keep an organised record of approved versions and source material to make later revisions easier. If new filming is needed, match the relevant visual approach where practical and review how the new scenes fit the existing edit.

Check the final file and every place it appears. Updating one version does not automatically replace an older copy on another channel.
