Comparing commercial concepts on the same terms

Several visually appealing proposals can still be solving different problems. Give each concept the same set of questions before choosing one to develop.

Look for the product's role

What will the audience remember? How does the idea depend on this particular product or brand? If removing the product leaves the story unchanged, its role may need strengthening.

Compare the intended message, relevance to the audience, brand connection, key production challenge and suitability for the required versions. Use the same criteria for every proposal.

Test the decisive image

A key-shot test can reveal more than a polished montage of mood references. Ask it to demonstrate the difficult action or visual relationship the concept relies on.

Record why the preferred approach was selected, which parts are approved and what still needs testing. This gives later revisions a reference point. The team can protect the reason the concept was chosen without treating every initial visual detail as fixed.
