If a client prefers an earlier version, the team needs more than the final video file to return to it. Keep each output connected to its references, production notes and review decisions.

Give shots and versions stable names

Keep the shot number tied to the storyboard and save each review version separately. Distinguish a raw generation from a composited, graded or captioned preview. Approval of the movement does not necessarily approve the product text or final format.

Save the input-material versions, tool information and settings actually available, output files and specific feedback. Do not invent parameters the tool did not expose, or assume that a complete record guarantees identical regeneration.

Hand over one clearly selected file

Record what should change and what must stay. Before editing, identify the approved shot, version and selected portion, with any outstanding corrections.

Check the image again after compositing, cropping and grading. Keep confidential product references and internal review material separate from anything approved for a public case study.
